Match Report: VFLW Round 3 v Geelong

Port Melbourne are still searching for the first win of their VFLW campaign after a tough loss to Geelong on Saturday Morning.

Played in blustery conditions down the highway at Deakin University, the Cats prevailed; 0.1.1 to 7.10.52.

Sophie Locke was joined by her sister Chloe who debuted strongly in the red and blue. The pair were in and around the contest all day, winning the ball consistently at the coalface.

Lauren Atkinson was resolute in defence, consistently taking intercept marks and setting up counterattacks. Nayely Borg and Kate Adams combined seamlessly in the midfield and were fearless in amassing possessions all day.

Lisa Davie had a strong return from injury, playing out the whole game, and was joined by Olivia Barton amongst the best for the Borough.

The Borough continues their stretch of away games, albeit closer to home, against Carlton this Sunday 10am at IKON Park.
