ETU Stadium will have its lights shining bright this Friday night, with Port Melbourne taking on Box Hill Hawks in the much anticipated round 5 clash. Port Melbourne will be looking for its fourth consecutive win of the season and first-ever win over Box Hill Hawks (formally Hawthorn) in its three years in the VFLW.

Tomorrow night will see some key players on the sideline due to injury and injury management, however, the depth of the Borough in 2023 will not go unnoticed with six big inclusions. Defender Tilly Mottram will make her VFLW debut, becoming the 100th VFLW player to play for Port Melbourne, saying she is “so stoked to be playing tomorrow with such a fun group.”

Key forward and Richmond alignment player, Amelia Peck will return to the side alongside Beth Wilson and key recruit Fede Frew. Midfielder, Taylah Watson is a welcomed inclusion after three weeks on the sideline due to a calf injury, whilst Alice Campbell also returns to the forward line.

“We are really proud of what we have already accomplished this season. We have plenty of work to do as we know we are capable of so much more and now winning three in a row we know we will have targets on our backs heading into the next phase of the season. It’s exciting to be having a standalone match on a Friday night, we would all love to see Borough fans come and support the side,” says Captain, Claire Dyett.
