ETU Stadium to Play Host to 2021 Rebel VFLW Grand Final

The Port Melbourne Football Club are delighted to have our home ground of ETU Stadium be confirmed as the host of this Sunday’s 2021 Rebel VFLW Grand Final between Collingwood and Geelong.

Following a successful inaugural season of VFLW football for the Borough – where the team managed a third-placed finish and four representatives were drafted to AFLW level – ETU Stadium became the hosting venue after the initial venue of IKON Park was deemed unsuitable due to ongoing construction works at the facility.

The clash itself will see the two standout teams of season 2021 face off for Premiership glory, with the Pies attempting to pull off an historic undefeated campaign.

The VFLW’s showpiece event will unfortunately be played in front of no spectators due to the current Victorian government health protocols, however CEO Paul Malcolm still welcomed the opportunity for the Borough to play their part in providing a venue worthy of such a momentous occasion.

“Whilst there will be no crowds due to the COVID restrictions, from a Club perspective it’s a great opportunity so showcase ETU Stadium across the live streaming of the game to what will hopefully be a sizeable audience”.

The game will get underway at 1:15pm this Sunday 8th August, with coverage provided live and free via Kayo Freebies.

On behalf of the Port Melbourne Football Club, we congratulate both the Magpies and Cats on their fantastic seasons so far, and wish them all the very best of luck on Sunday afternoon.
